   Information Technology Planning
Health care managers are under increasing pressure from physicians, nursing departments, pharmacies, radiology departments and other areas to increase the scope of hospital automation. Planning for this new information technology has become more complex as managers struggle to integrate computer based services with pre-existing technology. A system planning has become a valuable methodology to link information technology to an organization's strategic objectives, establish appropriate I/T goals and chart a direction for their attainment.

Throughout the planning process, G&A consultants educate hospital managers regarding available technology and help them define, prioritize and budget for the hospital's information needs. The end result of the process is a Plan that defines I/T priorities, system linkages, capital and personnel requirements and the implementation time frame. We work with our clients to develop overall system strategies along with technology specifications. The Plan also addresses the staffing and organization of the I/T function. Our consultants work closely with senior management to build organizational consensus toward practical and achievable systems' strategies.
